Detached 4-storey replacement dwelling!

Self-build, high-tech & environmentally friendly.

This was a replacement dwelling for a 1950's Bungalow. It has 6 bedrooms, 4 floors (including a basement) a Granny Annex, and a detached 3-bay "Barn Style" garage.

Bungalow built 1953 4-story house completed in 2004

As the house was outside the village development area there, there were some substantial planning issues to over-come resulting in a lot of negotiation with the local planners - something I do on a regular basis. One result of these negotiations was the requirement for flint walls & a slate roof - to match many other buildings in the village.

The building has some unusual features including:

a Ground Source Heat Pump for all heating & domestic hot water in a utility room in the basement with the associated water/plumbing issues.
